AWS unveils Mithra to identify and mitigate malicious domains across its massive system
The company on Monday revealed an internal umbrella platform for the first time that has been in place for several years, called Mithra, which it built to handle Amazon scale. The main piece of technology underlying the solution is a massive graph database with 3.5 billion nodes and 48 billion edges, according to C.J.
Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky suggested on Tuesday’s Q2 earnings call with investors that the company will soon expand into new products and services, including co-hosting, a relaunch of Airbnb’s “experiences,” guest services and more.
Reddit to test AI-powered search result pages
Reddit users will soon see AI-generated summaries at the top of search results. Reddit co-founder and CEO Steve Huffman told investors during its earnings call on Tuesday that the company plans to test AI-powered search result pages to “summarize and recommend content.”
Made by Google 2024: Pixel 9, Gemini, a new foldable and other things to expect from the event
Google’s next big hardware event is set for August 13 at 10 a.m. PT. That’s roughly a two-month head start for the Made by Google event, which has traditionally occurred mid-fall. It also, notably, will find the company announcing its latest flagship, the Pixel 9, ahead of the iPhone 16. Apple’s latest is set for a September announcement.
OpenAI begins rollout of its super realistic ‘Advanced Voice Mode’ for ChatGPT Plus users
OpenAI is adopting a phased approach to the rollout of Advanced Voice Mode to ensure close monitoring and continuous improvement based on real-world feedback. Initially, a small group of ChatGPT Plus users will receive access, with notifications sent via the ChatGPT app and email instructions.
