Article: Amazon to invest up to $4 billion in AI startup Anthropic
Anthropic, an AI Research organization is turning out to be Silicon Valley’s hottest new Research Startup with a bombshell Series C round of $5 Billion led by Amazon.
“ Anthropic says that it plans to build a “frontier model” — tentatively called “Claude-Next” — 10 times more capable than today’s most powerful AI, but that this will require a billion dollars in spending over the next 18 months. “
A company that claims to put AI Safety and AI Ethics at the forefront of their work, Anthropic’s claim to fame is its focus on “Responsible AI” models for Safety & Accountability, a contentious problem in the industry surrounding the use of AI as fidelity continues to improve at an alarming rate. With this round of investment, Anthropic aims to compete with OpenAI for the spot of “Who will lead the AI industry over the next 5 Years ?”
