Paytm's existential crisis Deepens.

RBI may cancel license of Paytm Payments Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is considering canceling the license of the crisis-ridden Paytm Payments Bank after the March 15 deadline to close the business and settlement of transactions runs out, in a growing sign of trouble for Paytm’s payment bank which is already facing an existential crisis.

The Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 6. The meeting lasted for some 10 minutes. In the meeting with the FM, Sharma is said to have explained the company's position with regard to the various issues flagged by RBI.

WhatsApp is planning a major change that will allow its 2 billion users to message people on other platforms, without needing to download multiple apps. It’s an unprecedented shift for the platform, which up until now has been a walled garden. In an interview with Wired, Dick Brouwer, an engineering director at WhatsApp, has revealed how the platform plans to interoperate with other messaging apps.

OpenAI Implements New Watermarking Technology in AI-Generated Images by DALL-E 3

OpenAI has announced that it will add watermarks to the metadata of the artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images created by DALL-E 3. The company stated that it will now use the open technical standard adopted by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), and add the information that the image was generated by AI, the name of the AI tool, and the name of the app used to create the image in its metadata. The move comes as Meta announced that AI firms need to adopt a common standard to help detection tools identify and label AI content on its social media platforms.
